Australian gold group Karora Resources has appointed Bevan Jones as its chief operating officer for Australia.
Jones, who will oversee day-to-day operations country-wide, is replacing a retiring Graeme Sloan. The company said it will continue to benefit from Graeme’s input as he will remain a member of senior management as an advisor.
Jones is a 27-year industry veteran, with positions focused on mine management and leadership. He was previously a general manger for Gold Fields, specifically at the St. Ives operation – which is situated next to Karora’s Beta Hunt mine.
Karora said it has targeted 185,000-205,000 ounces of gold by 2024 from Beta Hunt as well as its Higginsville gold operations, both of which are in Western Australia.
